GOMBAK, 21 November 2019: Food distribution for the IIUM community was recently held in conjunction with the closing of the Mosque Carnival 2019 (MOSCAR).
According to the president of the Imaratul Masjid Group (I- Masjid), Muhammad Aiman Fathi Bin Shamsuri, there were a number of activities conducted this year in conjunction with closing of the event, among which is the rewang, led by the Religious Assistant from Centre of Islamisation (CENTRIS), Mohd Solahuddin Bin Mohammed.
The theme for MOSCAR 2019 is ‘Centre of Unity’ and the event was held in Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SHAH) Mosque in IIUM campus here. Other activities held were nasyeed and futsal competition.
The menu of rewang for IIUM community were white rice, chicken gulai kawah, mixed vegetable fried, sambal belacan, ulam-ulaman and fruit.
The food distribution was placed at SHAS mosque business compound at 2:00 pm by the I-Masjid and rewang committee.
There were 20 and more committee members who joined the rewang from 8:30 a.m until 4:30 p.m who made the choice of the task by themselves.
The speech by the Director of CENTRIS, Assoc. Prof. Dr Akmal Khuzairy Abd. Rahman, marked the closing of MOSCAR 2019. ***
