GOMBAK, 26 October 2019: IIUM Art Club (IAC) Exhibition held at the HS Square from 21 to 24 October, which was intended to promote the art and the existence of the club, received positive feedback from the IIUM society.
“With the theme ‘Me and Myself’, the artworks displayed were the ways by which the illustrators were expressing themselves. It could be their likes, dislikes and inspirational messages that they chose to portray in the form of art,” said
the event’s programme manager and second IAC’s Vice President, Maryam Jameelah.
“Many people who walked around HS Square, became interested when they saw our display of artworks. They would asked about the illustrations and its owner with excitement. Not just that, people were also attracted to Try Me section, whereby they can use the colouring material and drew anything on canvas,” she added.
All the artworks were 100 percent made by the club members, including the merchandise. Thus, the originality and uniqueness created the interest in the people to participate in the exhibition as well as to apply for membership.
This IAC Exhibition is an annual event and it is conducted every semester. Maryam Jameelah stated that since IAC is under Centre for Arts & Cultural Sustainable Development (CiTRA), they will organise this exhibition during Citra Open Day too.
