GOMBAK, 13 October 2019 “ The Ahmad Ibrahim Cup (AIC) achieved gratifying participation of law schools from all over Malaysia for futsal and netball matches compared to the previous year.
According to the programme manager, Syed Anwar, ten law school teams from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA),Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Management and Science University (MSU), University of Malaya (UM) and also the host, IIUM, participated in futsal match whereas only four law school teams took part in netball.
Sharifah Nurshafiqah, who was the assistant programme manager, said that it was such an honour to have the involvement of UniSZA since they came all the way from Terengganu and stayed at Mahallah Bilal for two days and one night.
This event also aimed to create the bond between the senior and junior from different law schools in Malaysia in order to strengthen relationship among the law community.
œWe are able to widen connection with all law schools in Malaysia through this event. Therefore, law students can freely exchange their knowledge and experiences with each other without feeling awkward, said Syed Anwar.
Besides, this event was also one of the great platforms to promote healthy lifestyle among law students. œIt is to prove that we (the law students) are not only seen as experts in examining cases but also excel in sports as well, Syed Anwar added,
The netball match was held at IIUM Female Sport Complex while the venue for futsal match was IIUM Male Sport Complex. Both matches were held on Saturday (12 October).
Both Syed Anwar and Sharifah Nurshafiqah expressed their highest gratitudes to all parties involved in the event and in ensuring its success either directly or indirectly. ***
