KUALA TERENGGANU, 23 September 2019: A week-long programme called “Kasih Siswa 2019” (KASIS19) was held recently at Kampung Haji Yaakob, Kuala Terengganu, aimed at increasing teamwork between participants and community as well as to uncover hidden talents and potentials of committees and villagers.
It was organised by Welfare Secretariat of Economics and Management Sciences Society IIUM from 1 to 7 September under the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS).
It involved 77 members and it is the biggest programme under the Welfare Secretariat.
Its programme manager, Muhammad Fahmi bin Fauzi, said, “KASIS19 is a unique programme and it is different from other programme as it includes many aspects of life such as education, healthcare, sports and spiritual.”
The programme conducted a lot of activities among the students and villagers. Among the activities were distribution of foster family, spiritual programme, school project, gotong royong, sports carnival and donation giving session.
The objective of these activities focused on interaction between the villagers and students. It was also as a means to build and create ukhuwah between participants and the villagers.
“KASIS19 received great feedback from the community and the closing ceremony called ‘Kasis Festival’ was attended by approximately 300 villagers,” Fahmi added. ***
