GOMBAK, 22 April 2019 – Teacher’s Day 2019 will not only be celebrated by all lecturers of the Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) but also students of the Kulliyyah with the theme “Customs Across Cultures”.

This is because “as students of KOED we will be furthering our profession as teachers in future”, KOED Teacher’s Day 2019 public relations committee representative, Norainaa Syamimi Elias said.

The event will be held at Multipurpose Hall, Kulliyyah of Information and Communication (KICT) from 8:00 a.m until 12:30 p.m this Wednesday (24 April).

It will be graced with the presence of IIUM’s Deputy Rector (Student Development and Community Engagement), Dr. Zulkifli Hassan.

Performances by lecturers and students will be showcased on that day to entertain as well as to create bonds between KOED students and their lecturers. KOED students, therefore, have been called to participate and to enliven the event.

This is the third time Teacher’s Day is being celebrated, the first one was in 2017. Teacher’s Day falls on 16 May but it is celebrated early this year “because 16 May falls during Ramadan and final exam period, so we don’t want to disturb the students”, according to Norainaa.
