PAGOH, 30 March 2019: A workshop on journalism was held for students in IIUM Pagoh campus here on Friday (29 March) to enhance their writing skills in news and feature writing and to give them the opportunity for exposure to reporting and writing for IIUMToday.
Organised by IIUMToday team in Gombak in collaboration with Kulliyyah of Languages and Management Student Society (KLMSS), Pagoh, the programme was held from 9 a.m until 5 p.m at Studio 1, B4, KLM.
It was also aimed to recruit correspondents from IIUM Pagoh to report on events and activities going on in Pagoh campus for IIUMToday.
The session saw an attendance of some 30 participants from the Kulliyyah. The workshop was conducted by IIUMToday team of experienced student journalists from Communication Department like Mahadhir Monihuldin, Najmi Syahiran and Siti Alya Nadiah.
The workshop focused on several topics that included the basics of journalism, how to write news and feature stories, brainstorming for good story ideas, power walk exercise to generate interesting ideas, and interview techniques.
There was also a sharing session on the role of newspaper and broadcasting industry in Malaysia and the media on the global scene. ***
