Excellent Study Circle to bring youth closer to Al-Quran

CHERAS (KUALA LUMPUR), 10 March 2019 – A programme known as Youth Excellent Study Circle 2019, aimed to instil and nurture the characteristics of genuine mu’min among the youth, was launched at SMK Seri Bintang Utara (SBU) near here on Saturday (9 March).

The programme is a collaboration between the Department of Quran and Sunnah, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS), Murabbi Task Force and University Centre For Community Engagement (BUDI).

It was officiated by Dr. Nadzrah Ahmad, IIUM’s Head of Department of Quran and Sunnah.

Apart from that, the programme was also aimed to bring the youth closer towards the Quran and Sunnah through discussions on selected Quranic verses between the students and IIUM facilitators.

Dr. Nadzrah Ahmad told IIUMToday she was pleased to receive the invitation to run the programme at this school.

She said, “In 2017 and 2018 we received invitation from ERT Setapak Vocational College and Sekolah Dato’ Ahmad Razali, and now we are pleased to receive invitation from this school to conduct this programme.”

This programme will be held from March until November this year and will involve IIUM students as facilitators and the students from Asrama Kompleks Sri Bintang.

Meanwhile, the school’s senior assistant in charge of student affairs, Faridah Binti Meor Ahmad, expressed the hope that the students would benefit through this programme.

“I hope this programme will give good impact on our students and they would place the Quran and Sunnah importance in their daily life,” she added.***
