Outreach programme in Miri to enhance education to villagers

GOMBAK, 8 December 2018 – An outreach community service programme to Kampung Bekenu, Miri, Sarawak, Bedudun series 1, will be held one month from now, starting from 12 until 21 January next year.

Organised by MISI Club IIUM, Bedudun series 1 will be collecting donation to raise a targeted amount of RM20, 000 for the programme.

The objective of this programme is to serve the community of Kampung Subak Bekenu, Miri in Sarawak not only in education but also in terms of religious enhancement.

According to its programme manager, Aaina Najihah binti Ahmad Fadzil, Bedudun series 1 project will be doing some mural paintings to improve the children’s spirit to go to the school.

The programme is also intended to improve and help the community to live their life according to Islamic teachings.

The activities conducted will be related to Islamic teachings such as wudhu’ workshop, solat workshop, and more. This programme also will be doing motivational and educational talk, distribution of donation, and Quranic and Kafa classes.

MISI Club is one of the clubs under the supervision of University Centre for Community Engagement (UCCE-BUDI) of IIUM and is currently active in conducting community services and engagement projects in Sabah and Sarawak. Most of the programmes are intended to help people in the rural area in Sabah and Sarawak.

KINARA series 2 (Outreach to Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang) is another programme under MISI Club IIUM that will be held on the same date as Bedudun series 1.
