Interfaith Run: Peace4Peace to Foster Harmonious Relationship Among Pluralistic Society

GOMBAK, 28 November 2018 –  An Interfaith Run: Peace4Peace will be held this Saturday (1 December) to foster a harmonious relationship among pluralistic society in Malaysia and for participants to expand their circles of friends from among the different races and religions.

Organised by IIUM Quranic Youth Club, this Interfaith run will be held from 7.00 a.m to 11 a.m at Saidina Hamzah Stadium, IIUM Gombak with the running distance of 5 kilometres.

Apart from promoting positive relationship between people of different faiths and ethnicity, the event is also intended to create awareness on healthy and active lifestyle.

Furthermore, this event is also a continuation of the celebration of National Day and Malaysia Day. It is also aimed at fundraising where certain percentage of proceeds will be allocated to fund programmes under charity organisations,” said Programme Manager, Syuqairah Danisyah.

Syuqairah has therefore called on the campus community to join this programme. She said: “It would give the experience of a true ‘Malaysian’ run as the participants will be joined by people from different races as well as believers of major religions in Malaysia.”

Full sublimation jersey fee for students will be as follows: short sleeve (RM45) and long sleeve (RM50); while for members of the public, short sleeve (RM50) and long sleeve (RM55).

For IIUM students, the finisher will also receive an e-certificate, a medal, a string bag and star points.

There is also a promotion given that saved up to RM15 for those who register by a group of 3 persons for RM120 and add on RM5 for long sleeve but it is applicable for booth registration only.

Registration and payment can be made at their booth in front of female entrance from 9 a.m to 5 p.m as well as via online at website qyciium.com.
