GOMBAK, 7 September 2018 – Students were recently shocked by the news of their parcels being sent back to Pos Laju Batu Caves when told to collect their own parcels there as the Mahallah offices have been directed by Residential and Services Department (RSD) not to accept any more parcels from Pos Laju.
The reason given was that the Mahallah offices were not prepared to take the risk if the parcels addressed to the students were found damaged.
Students Representative Council’s (SRC’s) Chairperson on Welfare, Nurul Atikah Binti Che Anawa told IIUMToday that to lessen the burden faced by the students, a One-Stop Centre (OSC) will be set up to accept parcels from Pos Laju following feedback received from RSD.
She said that the SRC has been collaborating with Aficionado Nation Resources Centre Solutions (ANRCS) to establish OSC as a one-stop centre for collection of parcels and to ensure that it runs smoothly in the coming semester.
œWe hope students will put their trust in SRC and work hand in hand to solve this issue, considering that it can bring about positive impact to IIUM community, Nurul Atikah added.
This showed the sensitivity and responsiveness of the university’s management to the opinion raised by the students for the betterment of everybody, according to Nurul Atikah.
IIUM community will be kept informed of the latest news on this matter through SRC’s official twitter account (@iium_src). ***
