GOMBAK, 10 June 2018: The Dean of Centre for Post Graduate Studies (CPS), Dr. Asan Gani Bin Abdul Mutalif has called on postgraduate students “to serve the mankind and be in the front line to contribute enormously towards global research and innovation”.

He said that IIUM students should come forward and intensively concentrate in their study where the university is supplying the integrated knowledge – a combination of both revealed and human sciences knowledge.

“IIUM is a global centre of the multicultural and multiracial environment where students from every corner of the world are studying here,” he said.

“It has been providing all sorts of modern facilities to enhance the academic skills of students and providing financial assistance for bright students and publication of articles to make IIUM a world class research-based university.”

Dr. Asan Gani said this during the iftar for postgraduate students organised by IIUM’s Postgraduate Students’ Society (PGSS) in collaboration with the Centre for Postgraduate Studies (CPS) on Friday (8 June) at Banquet Hall, Rectory Building, in Gombak campus here.

“Besides academic achievement, the leadership qualities and skills attained here should prepare students for global leadership,” Asan Gani said.

The programme started with Quranic recitation and a welcome address by PGSS President, Fayzul Hoque.

In his welcoming remarks, Fayzul Hoque said that PGSS is always organising activities for the betterment of postgraduate students. He said, despite the inconvenience caused to the students, PGSS is ready to cooperate with CPS.

“At any time, students may contact PGSS if they face any problem at all, whether personal or academic,” Fayzul said.

During the iftar, a short tazkirah was given by Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, a PhD student from the Department of Quran and Sunnah. ***
