GOMBAK, 1 May 2018 -Â With the objective to serve the community of Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang, Tawau in Sabah, the Kinara 1.0 project is gearing itself for a donation drive to raise a targeted amount of RM20, 000 for the programme.
Kinara 1.0, a community service programme, will be held from 20 until 30 June, organised by the University Centre For Community Engagement (BUDI).
According to its Programme Manager, Rs Azira Sulaiman, Kinara 1.0 project will donate the money collected to the community of Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang.
The programme is also intended to improve the communitys Islamic environment and practices. The basic idea is to show concern and raise awareness towards the community in Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang while encouraging them to live their life according to Islamic teachings.
The activities conducted will be related to peer tutoring on schools subjects and night classes, motivational and educational talk, distribution of donation, and Quranic and Kafa classes.
BUDI is an organisation handled by the university to support the activities of societies and clubs in contributing towards the community and mankind. It covers many aspects such as volunteering, leadership, facilitating, and human development.
