Forum to discuss issues faced by Muslim minority

GOMBAK, 25 April 2018 – A forum on “Muslim Minority: Welcome to My World” will be held this Thursday (26 April) at 8.00 p.m. at Main Auditorium, IIUM campus here to focus issues faced by Muslims in countries where they are the minority.

Organised by Al-Aqsa Friends’ Society of IIUM, the forum will integrate both forum and TEDx talk.

The programme is aimed to raise awareness on the ummatic issues and to highlight the brotherhood in Islam so that at the end of the day, Muslims won’t be treated as double standards in countries they are the minority, according to its programme manager, Idzzty.

Two prominent speakers have been invited as panelists – Dr. Mohammad Ismath Ramzy, a senior lecturer of Educational Foundation and Humanitarian Forum, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, and Zakir Ahmad, a postgraduate student from Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge of IIUM.

For TEDx talk session, the speakers will be four IIUM students from four different countries – India, Columbia, Myanmar and Sweden – who will be sharing their knowledge.
