A chance to prove your skills at photojournalism

GOMBAK, 30 March 2018: Photojournalism enthusiasts will have a chance to prove their skills, passions and interests in the field by entering a photography competition on the theme “A Photograph of your Life Story”.

Organised by IIUMToday in conjunction with News Day on 9 April, the event will be an open contest for IIUM students aimed at inculcating the spirit of journalism and encouraging them to go into journalism.

The entries will be subject to certain rules and regulations of the contest. The content should follow the theme and entries may not be digitally altered significantly beyond standard optimisation as in cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, colour and contrast.

Any alterations to the basic reality of a photograph will not be permissible. There should be no removal or insertion of objects from the photo, no cloning pixels is allowed to create a new image or add to an image. Only minimal editing is allowed. Each participant can only submit one photograph.

The photograph must be accompanied by a short description either in English or Malay reflecting the theme of the contest. Entries must be submitted by 2 April 2018, in JPEG format for the photo, and words for the photo description. Email your entry at iiumtoday@gmail.com.

Top 24 participants will have their work showcased in a PHOTOJOURNALISM EXHIBITION at HS Square.
