Quick donation raised for drowned victim

GOMBAK, 25 February 2018: Mahallah Representative Council of Mahallah Zubair has launched a flash donation for the late third year KIRKHS student, 22-year old Mohd Faizal Yusri, who was found drowned in Lata Hammer Waterfall, Bentong, Pahang this morning.

According to its Welfare Bureau personnel, Solahuddin Ghazali, the donation was meant to ease his family’s burden.

“The reason why we launched this quick donation is to help his mother, as far we know, she’s a single parent. In addition, we want to instil the empathy among IIUM community following the tragic incident,” he said.

In addition, MRC Zubair also became the intermediate in catering for any related issues regarding the victim.

“As for now, we will focus on the donation but we became the mediator to any related things, such as today, we were with his family going through the process of bringing the body to his hometown,” Solah said, adding that their team will update any other information needed by other authorities.

Solah advised those who are interested to donate to contact 01137592965. He also reminded all IIUM students to take precautions if they wanted to do outdoor activities.

Earlier, it was learnt that the late Mohd Faizal was missing at the waterfall on Saturday (24 February). Today, the body was found by Pahang Fire and Rescue Department at 3.65 meter river depth. ***
