GOMBAK, 15 November 2017: Following the election of its new president, the Rakan Muda Club will organise Rakan Muda Week 2017 (RMW2017) from 20 to 26 November aimed at promoting the club to be more well-known among the IIUM community.
The event’s executive manager who is also the new president of Rakan Muda Club, Mohamad Syafeq Zainal Amin said, “We would provide the platform for IIUM community to showcase their talents to the society.”
According to Mohamad Syafeq, RMW2017 will be organising a number of educational-based activities for students to showcase their talents during the week.
He said that on 20 to 23 November, there will be Rakan Muda Fiesta at E0, Hallway, Kulliyyah of Engineering from 10a.m to 6p.m. There will be several vendors selling a variety of things at the festival as well.
There will be an impromptu speech programme called Suara Siswa to be held at Auditorium A, Engineering on 21 November.
Besides that, a workshop will be held on 24 and 25 November on Adobe Illustrator and Sony Vegas for those who are interested to polish up their skills on editing.
On 25 November, there will be three different programmes – Martial Art Performance, Step Dance and IIUM Street Workout. All of these programmes will be performed by talents from among IIUM students and will be open to public as well.
The closing ceremony will be held on 26 November at 8p.m at Auditorium A, Engineering where there will be performances, prize giving ceremony, and many more. All students are invited to attend.
“Our ultimate goal for this very first event is to publicise more on what is Rakan Muda and the nature of the club, as well as to give more students the chance to participate in the event,” Mohamad Syafiq added.
