Best Student Idlan says award means a lot to him and Departments

GOMBAK, 13 November 2017: Muhammad Idlan Afiq bin Mohamad Zahari who graduated with a Bachelor of Human Sciences (Psychology) received the Best Student (Overall) award of Kuliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences at the 4th session of IIUM’s 33rd Convocation ceremony yesterday.

He received the award from the representative of Respected Institution, Body, Entity / Lembaga Pemegang Amanah Kolej Islam Malaya (LAKIM), Lt. Gen. Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Abdul Aziz.

The award is conferred to the students of each kuliyyah who have exhibited exceptional achievement not only in academic but also in co-curricular activities.

In an interview with IIUMToday, Idlan who minored in Communication said, “This award means a lot to me because it represents my effort, even though I’m not at the same level with many others who represent our country and the university, but with this award I can still make my Kulliyyah, especially the Department of Psychology and the Department of Communication, feel proud.”

Besides, being a brilliant student who aces in his study, the recipient of 3rd place for McKinsy Young Leaders Academy (2016), also stressed that he always looked for challenges around the campus such as games or competition for him to unleash a new hidden strength and talent.

Thus, it makes his student life become more fun apart from just learning in class.

“Even if you are at the lowest level, you should still work hard and find a new opportunity everyday so that you can improve yourself,” said Idlan.
