GOMBAK, 28 October 2017: For the first time, an intercultural exhibition was organised in IIUM campus to allow students of the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law (AIKOL) to discover for themselves the diversity of cultures among them.
Organised by Law Students’ Society (LawSoc) in collaboration with International Students Secretariat as part of the AIKOL Festival 2017, the event was held from 25 to 26 October at Convest Hill.
The exhibition, themed “Together We Can Change The World”, was held with the aim to build integrated relationship between the international and local students through art.
œWe also organised the event with the intention for students to learn how to adapt to each other’s culture and to accept the uniqueness by sharing the differences among us, said the programme manager, Ala Soualhi.
Throughout the event, the response from the students were very encouraging, according to Soualhi.
“Students had the opportunity to try the scrumptious food like Yemeni tea, Kapsa mandi rice, North African desserts, and many more,” she added.
Among other interests of the event was a henna drawing section and a photo booth where students could pose in traditional outfits of the participating countries.
œIt is very memorable since we have some pictures as souvenirs to take home from the exhibition, said one of the visitors.***
