GOMBAK, 6 October 2017 – “…Salat is clear proof, fasting is an impregnable shield, and sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire.” (Jami’ at-Tarmidhi: 614)

MRC Mahallah Siddiq and Mahallah Nusaibah in collaboration with Hidayah Centre Sabah will be holding a community service programme in Kampung Karagasan, Sabah from 15 until 19 October this year.

The programme called “Bakti Siswa Aid for Muallaf” consists of 30 IIUM student committee members, 15 of whom are brothers, and another 15, sisters.

It is aimed to convey the Islamic teaching by helping the villagers with the act of community services and building bonds between IIUM participants and the muallaf. Besides, this programme is to enhance the level of confidence and motivation of the IIUM’s students in dealing with public community programme.

Moreover, it is a platform to strengthen the belief of the villagers towards Islam and help to clear their doubts so they will be able to protect themselves from other religion-belief threat.

Head of sponsorship, Aina Syazwani, told IIUMToday, “This programme exists to continue spreading and preaching the teaching of Islam despite the short duration of the event. Plus, this is  also one of the platforms to promote IIUM as the Premier International Islamic Research University.”
