GOMBAK, 7 June 2017: In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SHAS) Mosque IIUM Gombak campus in collaboration with i-Masjid is organising a Subh Warrior Competition.

The competition is open to all male IIUM students in the hope that through this competition it would encourage male IIUM students to come to the mosque to perform congregational Subuh Prayer every day during the holy month of Ramadan.

This competition will be held for 20 days starting on the 10th until the 29th of Ramadan and special prizes to be won for those who come every day without missing a single day.

According to one of the participants, Yu Fakhrullah, “some people might say that they join this competition because of the prize, but I would like to think that the prize is just a side reward and more like an encouragement to us.”

He also hoped that after this competition ends it still encourages him to go to the mosque and perform congregational prayers.

Through this Ramadan, the SHAS Mosque will be organising other activities as well such as Quran memorisation, special grand talk, and Tiang programme that teach those who want to read Quran with the right tajweed. All programmes are free admission to all.***
