BUDI Charity Run 2017 to bring fitness to community

GOMBAK, 29 April 2017: As part of the larger event called BUDILympic, UCCE-BUDI will be organising the three-kilometre BUDI Charity Run 2017 on 29 April 2017 with the aim to collect as much funds as possible for the University Centre For Community Engagement.

This event is meant to assist the Centre in organising the upcoming programmes for the community. Besides, it is also hoped that this event will provide an unbreakable bond between members in the club.

Director of BUDI’s club, Dato’ Hamidon Abd Hamid said, “ I hope the event will bring success to this club and reach the targeted participants in achieving its aim.”

BUDI Charity run will be held around the IIUM campus with the flag-off at 7.15 a.m at IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC). Participants are expected to be 200 students plus some outsiders. This is expected to one of the big events that will be organised within this month.

Budilympic programme manager, Muhammad Saifuddin Mohamed Shaidi, 23, said, “Hopefully this event will achieve its objective in raising funds for UCCE-BUDI by engaging the students with the communities”.

This event is not only meant to collect funds for the club but also organised to allow all IIUM community and the outsiders to stay fit. Besides, it will also bring them as one community to make the event a success and fun.

Meanwhile, manager of BUDI Charity Run 2017, Amirul Hendra Abdul Rahman, 23, said, “This run is indeed a manifestation of the commitment embraced by all clubs under Budi to serve the community.”

“Insya Allah, this event will produce an unbreakable bond between those who are involved and not forgetting enabling BUDI to serve its purpose efficiently.” ***
