GOMBAK, 27 February 2017: The Development Division of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) along with Daya Bersih Sdn Bhd will start the restoration work of the walkway connecting Mahallah Siddiq to the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) within the month of March this year.

According to the office of Development Division of IIUM, they are in the process of getting the fund from the higher-ups to restore the walkway.

On 17 January a horrendous storm struck the IIUM campus in Gombak causing destruction to a number of properties of IIUM affecting both the students and staff members.

Regarding the safety of the students, Assistant Manager of Mahallah Siddiq, Mohd Hazwanuddin said, “Students are advised to be aware of the destruction site and to avoid certain location to prevent any injuries.”

Hazwan claimed that some students did not bother about the ruined walkway and keep using the walkway. ‘This is very dangerous,” he said, adding that “the caution signs that have been put up at the destruction site have fallen off but the management will put the replacement soon”. ***
