GOMBAK, 23 February 2017: As the new semester begins, IIUMToday has officially welcomed its new coordinator, Wan Norshira Wan Mohd Ghazali, to replace Dr. Aini Maznina A. Manaf, who has been appointed as the Head of Department of Communication, to succeed Dr. Zeti Azreen Ahmad who has completed her term.

In the  first meet up session with members of the student portal’s editorial team early this week, Wan Norshira expressed her gratitude to be appointed the new coordinator and hoped to have good cooperation to ensure continued success of IIUMToday.

Meanwhile, IIUMToday’s editor, Aznan Mat Piah, continues in this position which he has been holding since the news portal’s establishment and will be working hand in hand with the new coordinator.

Wan Norshira reminded members of IIUMToday to take advantage of  their position and role and urged them to use the platform to put into practice what they have learned in class.

She said, œDuring my time as a journalism-specialised student studying in this university, I never had the chance like this. So, I really hope members would  make use of this opportunity to master the skills and get yourselves exposed to the knowledge needed for your future endeavour.

IIUMToday was founded by former Rector and senior Prof. Dato Sri Dr. Syed Arabi Idid in March 2014 and has been the only official news portal for IIUM community.

Ever since the establishment of IIUMToday, the website has delivered fast paced news on events, announcements, feature stories on university and student affairs and breaking news. The website had so far managed to garner 264,214 readers and had published 40,653 news and articles over the past years.

The latest addition is a weekly IIUMToday Bulletin coordinated by Dr. Harmi Taazim which started last semester in collaboration with students specialising in electronic media to give a weekly visual round-up of events happening in campus. This semester IIUMToday Bulletin is produced in two languages, English and Bahasa Melayu***
