GOMBAK, 10 November 2016: Convest 2016 in collaboration with Counselling and Career Services Centre IIUM has been receiving great responses for their student-empowering events in Career Vaganza and Book Mania 2016.
For their previous programmes held recently, a talk by IIUM lecturer, Dr. Zaharuddin Abd Rahman, on “Yourself Your Legacy” has garnered more than 100 students. Meanwhile, “Oh My Google!” talk by Malaysian Google expert, Shakirah Abdul Karim, also witnessed a lot of audience, with around 80 students.
Among the coming programmes lined-up this week are Workshop on Self-Empowerment (WOSE), Bahtera Jiwa Forum, Writing Workshop and 3C (Confidence, Charismatic, Competitive) Workshop. All of these programmes have been witnessing several of IIUM students registering up, according to one of the committees, Ainil Izyan Nazri.
For WOSE, UiTM Clinical Psychologist, Sow Jo Anne and Assistant Professor at KIRKHS, Dr. Abdul Latif Abdul Razak will be talking about mood disorder. The workshop is to take place on Thursday at Experimental Hall. Speakers who will be present at the other programmes are Hilal Asyraf, Fatimah Syarha, Ustaz Pahrol Mohd Juoi and IIUM Senior Counsellor, Saiful Redza Mohamed respectively.
The Book Mania happening at Business Centre also has 11 vendors selling books at cheap prices until this Friday.
“We also have doodle photo contest. There’s a doodle created by Malaysian doodler Nasuha, so students can take pictures with the doodle and upload on Instagram with the hashtag ‘CVBM’,” Ainil said.
“Let’s benefit the coming days with programmes that you won’t forget,” Ainil added.
