SETIAWANGSA, 31 July 2016: Mustang Handball Team of IIUM emerged as a runner-up at JJ League Circuit 3 after losing out to Unimix with the score of 6-14.
On the first half, Unimix led the game with the score of 3-1. However, during the second half of the game, IIUM players tried to beat the Unimix but failed. Unimix won that final match.
Before final, Mustang Team qualified to the final after beating Timbelalang with the score of 14-8.
The captain of Mustang team, Uzair Zubli said, “We already won all games during the group stage and we also beat Timbelalang to make it to the final. Other than that, hopefully, after this national tournament, we are prepared to face Malaysia University Sports Council (MASUM) this November, and we will try our very best to bring the medal to IIUM.”
Although Mustang Team lost out during the final they managed to qualify for Grand Finale Competition at Majlis Sukan Negara Setiawangsa that will be held from 1 until 3 October 2016.***
