GOMBAK, 24 April 2016: Mahallah Asiahs gate  that was closed earlier than the enforcement of  curfew hours had caused a fuss among female students, especially the residence of the mahallah. The action has been decided by the higher authority of the University since last two semesters due to security reasons.

There are increasing numbers of crime activities around the campus that have been reported, resulting in tight supervision by the security authority of the University. Due to the insufficient number of security officers and for safety reasons, Mahallah Asiahs will be closed as early as nine and all entrances and exits will be through Mahallah Aminahs gate only.

According to the security officer on duty at Mahallah Aminah, Jamil B. Jaafar, the increasing number of crime cases happening among female students are worrisome and this has given the university authority the decision to open only one gate because of insufficient number of security officers to be placed at Mahallah Asiahs post guard.

Despite the action taken, many female students are not happy as it is inconvenient to them especially during weekdays. Students especially from Mahallah Ruqayyah and Halimah faced problems as they have to walk all the way from Mahallah Asiah and through Mahallah Aminah just to get back to their respective mahallah.***
