GOMBAK, 22 April 2016: A new programme called Mesra Kampung Project by the Social Responsibility Secretariat of Students’ Representative Council (SRC) 2015/2016 will be held on 23 April at Batu 11 Gombak.
“It is very important to nurture the spirit of volunteerism among IIUM students as we know that this university has a lot of volunteer groups such as Kitchen Soup Project (KSP), The Nasi Lemak Project (NLP), and Kuliah Jalanan (KUJA),” said the project’s programme manager, Syahmi Amran.
He said that the objective of this programme is to establish a centre of integration and to promote volunteerism among IIUM students towards the Gombak community which is close to the campus.
A number of activities will be conducted in this programme such as Arabic classes, mentoring and sports.
This programme will also involve participation of school students from SK Sungai Chincin, SMK Sungai Chincin, SK Sungai Pusu, SMK Sungai Pusu, Sekolah al-Amin Gombak and Sekolah Integrasi.***
