Uver transport, a voluntary project to help students in need

By Nur Najmi Jamal

GOMBAK, 14 April 2016: Do you need a free ride to go to kulliyyah? Do you have a transport and would like to give free hitch for IIUM students?

Uver Project is one initiative by final year Communication students that is intended to help students who do not have a transport to take them to kulliyah. This project is carried out with the help of volunteers who own transports and voluntarily want to join this project by giving free ride for the students.

This project is aimed to reduce the problem of traffic congestion and limited parking space in the university campus.

œWe aim to help students since some of them stay in the mahallah that is quite far from their kulliyah location, particularly with the current weather condition, this would certainly help the students, said Muhammad Najib Mohd Taib, who is the project manager for Uver Project.

This Uver Project can be spotted through stickers that will be displayed at the volunteers car where students can seek for a free ride to the same destination.

œIIUM students have actually already practised the hitch ride in the campus, but now it’s time to make it more known among the students, said Athirah Marzuki, one of the volunteers for Uver Project.

This project is open to students and staff members who own cars or other means of transports to become volunteers, and if they are interested to be part of the project they can contact the following person at this mobile number:
