Engine Bazaar with a mission to produce graduates with business skills

GOMBAK 12 April 2016: The One Stop Centre (OSCENT), Enginepreneurs Bureau (EGP) recently organised an Engine Bazaar with the aim to trigger the interest of students to become entrepreneurs to achieve the Ministry of Higher Education’s mission of producing graduates with business skills.

The bazaar held at E0, level 1, Kuliyyah of Engineering, IIUM Gombak from 11 to 14 April 2016 started from 9 a.m until 5 p.m. At the bazaar, there were 26 market vendors, most of them were by young IIUM entrepreneurs.

Various types of food sold at several market vendors, mostly by young IIUM entrepreneurs and outsiders, which included Penang laksa, kerabu rice, kampung fried rice, nugget, honey and doughnut.

Besides, members of the campus community could enjoy special food and stunning beverages like gyoza, kimbap, ice blended, Bing Cup coffee and some cordial drinks.

Aside from that, there were more or less premium accessories like books, optic, perfume, gadget, cosmetic and some exclusive clothes sold by the vendors at this bazaar.

Bazaar’s programme manager, Muhammad Fariszuddin Abd Samat said, œI hoped this bazaar will run smoothly and all the vendors will achieve their target to earn some funds from their selling.

œWe have received some wonderful feedback and support from the Rector of IIUM, Prof. Dato Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin and also from the Dean of Kuliyyah of Engineering, Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Wira Ir. Dr. Mohd. Noor Salleh for this event, he added.

Nurul Jannah Abdullah, a first year student from Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences said, œPeople should visit this bazaar if they do not want to miss the chance to have several foods and beverages with fabulous price and some clothes and accessories as well.

œ I truly enjoy myself buying at this bazaar because I could throw a cold drink on this hot weather to help me beat the heat weather  by keeping myself fresh, said Nurul Salasiah Mohd Rais, a student from the Department of English Language and Literature.

œSo, it’s really good to seize this opportunity to be the first to taste the marvellous food or whatever else with the best prizes available at this bazaar. ***
