GOMBAK, 10 April 2016: Around 25 members of MISI Club IIUM attended their training camp 1.o conducted by 16 committees as they gathered around for three days from 8 to 10 April at Engineering Coleseum, IIUM, as the closing ceremony yesterday marked the end of the programme.
œThis training camp was conducted for the participants to get know more about the culture of the peoples of Sabah and Sarawak as well as to expose them to the nature on how to conduct an outreach programme. This is because MISI Club IIUM is the only club under University Centre for Community Engagement (BUDI) that managed outreach programme in Sabah and Sarawak, Nurfaezah Farhan Mohd Yusof, 21, who is the Programme Manager for Training Camp 1.0 said.
Activities that had been conducted for the participants were ice breaking to get their bonds strong between them, Running Man alike Explorace, cultural night and also declaration of poem session. The programme ended with speeches by the Programme Manager and the President of MISI Club IIUM, and hamper giving to all groups of participants.
œParticipants can get so many benefits after joining this training camp because they can get more knowledge about Sabah and Sarawak culture and also comprehend more about MISI Club itself. This training was also one of the requirements and preparations for those who want to join the outreach programme this semester that will be conducted during the first week of Ramadan, Nurfaezah added.
She hoped that both the participants and committee members had enjoyed the training camp and gained new knowledge and experience as well as enhanced the bond of friendship between them even more than before.
One of the committee members, Asmidah Amir, 24, also expressed her feeling that even though she’s one of the senior members of the club, but still she gained new friends with the new members and hoped they would stay tuned with all the clubs programmes.***
