‘Battle of Mind’ produces high-level module

GOMBAK, 9 April 2016: Steadfast Club, IIUM, was inspired to hold a competition called ‘Battle of Mind 2016′ or BOM’16 recently for them to obtain the best and a high-level module for the next activities from another division in that organisation.

Assistant programme manager, Nur Zulaiqha M. Mazlam said that the objective of the programme was not just to get a participation from another division to produce a new idea of the module for the Steadfast Club, but also to create a bond between them.

The programme was organised into two sessions where session 1 was on presentation module from the participants while session 2 was on games. The competition was judged by Vice President 1 of Inspired Club, Saidatul Nur Afiqah Sahril, Vice President 1 of Comrade Club, Izyan Nasuha Khairizam, and President of Steadfast, Namazi Ab. Rashid.

The competition involved participation from seven bureaus – HRM, INFO, SENDI, SPECTRA, OUTREACH, GEMUDA, and ENS.

The title of ‘Best Bureau’ was given to SPECTRA with 291 marks where the team came out with fresh idea for moral and identity camp. They illustrated the module by looking at the situation of students who have a discipline problem, especially in the urban school.

The second place was given to the OUTREACH with 285 marks. The team presented a leadership camp, specific for primary school from forms 4 to 5 who have a position in the school. Meanwhile, the third place went to SENDI with 284 marks. They have confidently presented the new module for ice breaking or ta’aruf for students in forms 1 until 3.

With the tagline ‘Where the Great THINKERS are Born’, a presentation session and the games provided called Werewolf, Perfect 10, Nonsenses Math, Seat exchange, and Sweet Games were aimed at testing and enhancing the participants with creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and social skills. ***
