GOMBAK, 29 February 2016: More than 30 students including the newly recruited members for IIUM Nasyeed Club attended their first mass gathering for this semester held at Nafastari Zapin & Nasyeed Room with love in their heart and to strengthen the bond between the old and new members.

“This event is held with the objective to give proper exposure to those newly registered in this club as well as to introduce the new lineups for this tenure so that it will make us easier to get along with so many programmes planned ahead,” said the event’s Assistant Programme Manager, Noor Hazirah Abdul Aziz, 22.

She also mentioned that this event was conducted to look for the new generation of performers to contend in all nasyeed competitions in the future and also to give them chances to conduct and become committee members in planned programmes so that they can build their management skills.

“We hope that with this first event, we can give positive insight for new members and ‘burn’ their spirits to join our future programmes as performers and also as committee members so that it will give positive input for themselves with God’s will,” she added.

The programme started with tahlil conducted for the late father of one of IIUM Nasyeed club member who recently passed away, and after that was new lineups video presentation and lastly there were two performances by Al-Fateh group and one by the alumni of this club at the end of the event.

For future programmes for both this semester and the next, the newly elected president of the club, Muhammad Fariq Jaafar, indicated that there would be nasyeed audition, busking outside IIUM to promote this club, Dikir Fikir Zikir, Inter-mahallah nasyeed competition, and family day. The biggest event would be the international Nasyeed Manifestation.

“We hope that all members can give their full support and commitment to make sure all programmes run as planned and with Allah’s will, we’ll make history for this club to be well-known to people out there, not among IIUM students only,” he added. ***
