GOMBAK, 20 February 2016: A total of 34 students from various Kulliyyah in IIUM are finally being accepted into IIUM Student Career Team (iSCT) following overwhelming applications that drew in since the first day of iSCT recruitment announcement went online recently.
The programme organised by the Counselling and Career Services Centre IIUM is the first of its own, and received about 300 applications from students. After some tough screening and interview sessions, 34 students were accepted and called in for a short briefing and taaruf session with officials from Counselling and Career Services Centre.
Assistant Director, Counselling and Career Services Centre IIUM, Kamaruddin Abdul Hamid, had also regarded the students as the ˜cream of the crop as they have been selected for recruitment. However, high expectations were put for them, and hopefully they the ones to be selected in the industry first and foremost.
iSCT is arranged for students to support career programmes and activities that have been collaborated with various agencies and companies. Not only that, it is also to support career development and future employment of IIUM students. The students recruited are also expected to help their fellow friends in their Kulliyyah to boost their competencies for the ever-challenging working industry by promoting career programmes offered by the university.
The programme has its own comprehensive module which takes two semesters to complete. Meanwhile, the Induction Camp for the first batch of iSCT is set on 5Â until 6Â March 2016 for them to get to know each other, and to gain a thorough understanding of the nature of the programme.***
