GOMBAK, 18 December 2015: Twenty one International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) lecturers from various fields have made this university proud after their collection of academic books were published by international publishers.
According to IIUM Deputy Rector (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin, it is not an easy thing for an academic book to be given the chance to be published at the international level.
“I’m not trying to downgrade the local publishing companies but this is really a golden opportunity for us to expand the market of those books,” he said after attending a high-tea at the IIUM Gallery on Friday.
Dr. Mohamed Ridza added that those books which have been printed were collected since four years ago and were exhibited at the gallery since April this year.
“The exhibition of the books will be showcased until the end of this year. Those who are interested can see them for free at this gallery,” he added.
The international publishers involved, among others, include Legas Publishing (Canada), Springer Heidelberg (New York) and John Wiley & Sons (Singapore).
