GOMBAK, 11 December 2015: Students who have made notable contributions to IIUMToday, IIUM.fm, Communication Students Association (COSA), and Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Students Association (IPRMSA) – IIUM Chapter took the spotlight to receive their awards during Communication Appreciation Night 2015 recently.
For the second time, IIUMToday reporter Muhammad ‘Izzud Deen Redzuan received the Syed Arabi Award for contributing the highest number of news items and stories as well as his performance as Managing Student Editor.
Other reporters who received the IIUMToday awards were Ahmed Wafi Abdul Rashid Moten for Best Feature Writer Award, Shazni Ong and Najmi Jamal for Most Dedicated and Committed Journalist Award, and Most Promising Journalist Awards went to Abdul Hafiz Asnawi and Azra Farzana Shuib.
Apart from these students, a lecturer in the Department of Communication, Aznan Mat Piah, took the stage to receive the Dedicated Editor Award for his commitment to IIUMToday from Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Syed Arabi Idid.
For IIUM.fm team, Nuha Muhammad received Best Deejay Award. Most Dedicated Crew Award went to Najiyah Abdul Razak while Raiyan Mujib received Most Promising Deejay Award.
IZO was awarded as The Best Programme in IIUM.fm, thanks to deejays Khairun Nizam Hosen, Mohd Sufiuddin Hamzah and Muhamad Zulfikhri Sapari.
Three students who have been active in COSA received the Awards for Dedication and Commitment for Hard Work. They were Mohammad Danial Mohd Yusof, Norfathiah Azian Salehuddin and Nur Atikah Bujang.
Active students in IPRMSA were recognised for their contributions as Muhammad Najib, Madeehah Nazneen and Samirah Hasan took home the Most Dedicated and Committed Awards.
The Communication Appreciation Night 2015 was held to honour and appreciate lecturers and students who have dedicated to the development and improvement of IIUMToday, IIUM.fm, COSA and IPRMSA, under the roof of the Department of Communication.***
