GOMBAK, 26 September 2016 – In conjunction with the Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) Festival, also known among students as KAED Fest, held in campus recently, the ‘Got Talent KAED’ was the most awaited battle event.
The event was the grand finale stage for six participants who were accompanied by musicians with their bands and instruments.
“The main objective of the programme is to find out and cultivate the hidden talents of IIUM students, at the same time to give the opportunity for talented people from outside to join,” said Programme Manager, Muhammad Ameruddin Zulkifli, who is a Quantity Surveying student.
He said that he was very impressed with all the talents that night, making him difficult to choose the winners. He expressed the hope that as for every year this great talent competition would be conducted for other events in IIUM.
Fakhrul Ramadhan Omar, a solo magician, who was announced as the winner, said, “It’s really unexpected for me to win this as I only got to prepare for the final round within two days.”
His spontaneous magic skills on stage had caught the eyes of the audiences and judges.
“For me, the competition has slightly improved my performance skills, and generally for me, entertaining the audiences has become my main intention,” he added.
The event, which started at 8 p.m and ended at around 11 p.m, was also enlivened by special performances from the Malaysia hits band singers, Caliph Buskers and Major 9 at the end of the competition. ***
