GOMBAK, 29 November 2015: Communication students are planning to do their bit to create greater awareness among campus community of solid waste management and environmental benefits through recycling programmes.
The Malaysian government has imposed a new act on solid waste management that should be strictly implemented by households and business premises effective 1 September 2015. In conjunction with the implementation of the act, communication students have volunteered to carry out a promotion on ‘The Recycling Project’.
The Recycling Project offers various benefits to organisations or individuals participating in the campaign. Among them, the event provides a platform for students and organisations to become agents of this noble activity to educate their community on ways to improve campus environment by participating in recycling programmes.
The event will be held on 2 December, starting from 8.30 a.m until 5.00 p.m at HS Square, Human Sciences Building. The target audience will be mainly the IIUM students and community.
Several activities such as fun photo booth, street recycle buskers, desired dustbins and video presentation will be featured.
