This event aims at creating awareness among youths on the socio-economic issues affecting Malaysia and the world in general through various motions while promoting values of the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue to the participants.

Organised by the IIUM World Debate and Oratory Centre (IWON) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE), this year’s championship features 570 debaters from 190 teams; 69 teams in Malay language category, 66 teams for English and 55 for Arabic.

The champion from each category will take home MYR3,000, followed by the runner-up with MYR500, and MYR500 for the semi finalist.

Apart from that, another MYR500 prize money will also be given to the overall best speaker and final’s best speaker, each.

The 13th IDC is expected to display prominence that was showcased in the event’s previous series.
