New designs for IIUM Wireless Services to be implemented

GOMBAK: Starting tomorrow, 27 January 2015, the Information Technology Division (ITD) of IIUM will begin the first implementation of the new design of IIUM Wireless Services at KICT, ITD and CELPAD as a pilot test.

This redesigning of services is another effort by the ITD to improve the IIUM Wireless Services to the next level for the whole  community in the University.

The implementation of the new Wireless on all IIUM campuses will be done in phases as follows:

  • Phase 1: Pilot Test at KICT,ITD,CELPAD. (January 27, 2015)
  • Phase 2: IIUM Gombak, ISTAC, and IIBF. (February 6, 2015)
  • Phase 3: IIUM CFS Petaling Jaya and Gambang. (Middle of February, 2015)
  • Phase 4: IIUM Indera Mahkota and Jalan Hospital Campus. (Early of March, 2015)

Once the new IIUM Wireless Services is successfully implemented, the name of wireless or SSID will be changed according to specific categories. The former SSID like IIUM-Community will no longer be used.

Therefore, staff and students are expected to notice the new SSID appearing on the computers and mobile phones and the new SSID are as follows, IIUM-Student, IIUM-Staff, IIUM-Guest and IIUM-Registration.
