GOMBAK, 13 September: A gotong-royong activity was recently held in conjunction with the start of the 2014/2015 academic session as part of the university’s programme to maintain a clean environment in the campus.
Organised by Kulliyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS) in collaboration with Daya Bersih, the activity was attended by around 200 people comprising of first year students and staffs from KIRKHS as well as Daya Bersih. Also in attendance were the Dean of KIRKHS, Prof. Ibrahim Mohamed Zein and Deputy Dean of KIRKHS (Student Affairs), Dr. Miszairi Sitiris.
“This is your kulliyyah. This is your home for the next 3 to 4 years,” said Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Zein in his opening remarks to the participants.
The event began around 9.00 a.m. with the distribution of jobs among five teams consisting a mixture of students from various kulliyyahs led by a facilitator. The main areas covered by the participants were around the Human Sciences building and the cafe as well as the Islamic Revealed Knowledge building.
All participants had managed to complete their designated tasks and chores by around mid-noon. Before dispersal participants were given free lunch prepared by Daya Bersih.
