Special Tahlil & Jumaat Prayer for National Mourning Day

By Shawal Ras

GOMBAK: A Special Tahlil and Jumaat Prayer in conjunction with the National Mourning Day will be held at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SHAS) Mosque today.

August 22 has been declared a national day of mourning as 16 bodies of Malaysians killed in the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash are set to arrive in Kuala Lumpur from the Netherlands. The aircraft was shot down over eastern Ukraine last month.

The community of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) are all invited to this occasion, which is set to begin at 12.30 pm until 2.30 pm.

A special khutbah will be delivered by the khatib of the SHAS Mosque during the Friday prayer.
